• Recap of the 2024 general election and how the results of the November general election will impact the 2025 legislative session, and ultimately how the election results will affect ASA’s legislative priorities. 
• Update on ASA’s priority legislation and the legislation that may be filed impacting subcontractors and the construction industry.
• Q& A with our lobbyist Nikki Strong. This is a great opportunity to engage in conversation and stay informed on important topics that affect your business and our industry.

SPEAKER:  Nikki Strong, Strong Consulting Group.  Ms. Strong has served as the ASA Midwest Council lobbyist since 2006. Nikki Strong’s journey into the realm of politics and government affairs was ignited by her early experiences working on campaigns. Inspired by her grandfather, Jim Strong, a dedicated public servant in the Missouri House and Senate for 18 years until his retirement in 1991. Nikki’s passion for legislative processes and public policy was nurtured from a young age. With an impressive career spanning two decades, Nikki is a seasoned lobbyist recognized for her expertise in advocating for a diverse range of issues.  In January 2023, Nikki joined the lobby team of Gamble and Schlemeier, one of the top lobbying firms in Missouri. Nikki holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and resides in Jefferson City.

There are opportunities and risks found in lesser utilized types of contracts:

~ Teaming Agreement:  If the job is too large for one Sub, then team up with another to share the risk rewards.

~ Joint Check Agreement:  How to assure payment flows down to  lower tier subs and suppliers.

~Borrowed Tools/Employees Agreement:  What happens when another trade uses your employees or tools and something goes wrong?

~Liquidating Agreement:  If the owner does not pay the GC, do you really want to rely on the GC to collect your money and give up rights against the GC?
